Financial Planning doesn’t have to be Intimidating
Smart, successful women often struggle to feel in charge of their money. Why? Because the financial industry was – and in many ways continues to be – an all-boys club – one that intentionally excludes those who are not already in positions of power and privilege. A fractured relationship with finances can have serious consequences, specifically for women. I’ve made it my mission to help bridge the gap between women and their financial knowledge, empowering them to thrive and feel secure.
If you feel overwhelmed by finances, you’re not alone, and it’s not your fault. Access to financial education can be exclusionary based on gender, race, and many other factors.
Money is not about merely logic and math; it’s emotional and tied directly to our survival and security. That’s why it is so crucial for women to grow confidence with their finances and take control of their money.
I’m Maura Madden, CFP®, a feminist financial planner passionately committed to equity. I help simplify your finances so you can focus on life’s priorities. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER, I always act as a fiduciary, providing fee-only, hourly planning to individuals, couples, and families. Maura Madden Financial Planning, LLC, is a Registered Investment Advisory Firm (RIA).
You can benefit from Feminist Financial Planning if you:
- Are in a complicated financial situation with many moving parts and need support in sorting it out.
- Need professional guidance due to a sudden or impending change in your life.
- Know that a major financial decision needs to be made and want to explore your options to make an informed choice.
No matter your situation, I can meet you where you are. By providing guidance, clarity, and an actionable plan, I’ll set you on a path to achieve your financial goals.
You might worry that you’re not ready because you haven’t saved enough or don’t understand all your numbers. But those are exactly the reasons to work with a planner. In fact, many of my clients have never worked with a financial planner or advisor before. Helping women understand money matters and plan for their financial future is what I do best.
A Unique Way to Serve Clients
Intimidation can discourage people from engaging with their finances. That’s why I’m committed to avoiding high-pressure sales tactics and overly complicated jargon. Instead, I lead with integrity and inclusivity:
- I am a fiduciary, meaning I am required to work in the best interests of my clients, placing their needs above my own.
- I am fee-only. I am paid directly by clients in a transparent manner, never through commissions or underlying fees. This allows me to provide impartial advice without conflicting motivations.
- I am advice-only. I do not manage your assets; I provide advice and can guide you through the implementation of recommendations. This means you can choose to leave your money where it is.
- I charge hourly. Clients pay only for the time I spend working on their plan, with no ongoing commitment.
- There are no minimum required assets. The only requirement is that your financial situation justifies hiring a professional.
